The Shire of Chapman Valley has a range of roles and responsibilities that it undertakes from maintaining and improving local infrastructure, to the provision of recreational facilities, building, planning, health and administration services, and community development. We are committed to continually improving our municipal operations for the benefit of our ratepayers and residents and welcome your feedback.

We hope you’ll find this site useful to access a range of information on services and resources available.

Community Development

The Shire's Community Development Officer, Nicole Batten, can assist community groups with funding requests and to research the availability of grants. To contact Nicole, email: community@chapmanvalley.wa.gov.au

Natural Resource Management [NRM]

At the Shire of Chapman Valley we are dedicated to NRM. Through a partnership with Northern Agricultural Catchments Council (NACC) they host a full time Local NRM Officer who is available to provide assistance to community members on all aspects of NRM. This includes

    * technical advice on NRM matters and projects  
    * assistance in applying for funding through grants and other government schemes
    * awareness of what NRM opportunities and events are occurring in the region.

Heritage - Register of Buildings

Council has a register of heritage-listed buildings. Persons doing research or interested in inspecting the heritage register are invited to do so in the Shire library. cso@chapmanvalley.wa.gov.au

Shire E-news

The Shire has recently produced an e-newsletter to help keep residents and ratepayers informed of Shire news. The e-news is available on our Website's homepage. To register for our e-news please contact email our Community Development Officer, Nicole Batten, on  community@chapmanvalley.wa.gov.au

Newspaper - Valley Vibes

 
The Shire is fortunate in having a vibrant group of volunteers who keep the community and other interested people up to date with news, events and advertising. We regularly submit Shire news to this important local newspaper.

If you would like to participate in the production of the Valley Vibes, new volunteers are always welcome.

Advertisements, news, articles and upcoming events can be included in monthly issues by: -

 Subscription of the Valley Newspaper cost $25 for 11 issues - mailed to you.

Feedback/Complaints

The Shire of Chapman Valley welcomes your feedback. If you are not satisfied with the way the Shire has undertaken to provide a service or attempted to resolve an issue, you are entitled to make a formal complaint. Harvest Bans

The Shire of Chapman Valley offers a free SMS text message alert service advising residents when a harvest ban is imposed by the Chief Bushfire Control Officer and when the ban is lifted. Local residents who wish to utilise this free service should complete the form below to register their mobile phone. Please note that a maximum of four (4) mobile phones per farm may be registered to receive the SMS alerts. Completed forms must be returned to the Shire offices either by fax (9920 5155) or email (cso@chapmanvalley.wa.gov.au).
