Natural Resource Management

NRM and the Shire of Chapman Valley

Natural Resource Management (NRM) is looking after what we have so it lasts for future generations. It refers to anything that occurs naturally in the environment eg. rivers, soil, plants, animals, beaches etc. We depend on natural resources to survive, to make us money and for our well being.

The Shire of Chapman Valley is dedicated to NRM. Through a partnership with Northern Agricultural Catchments Council (NACC) they host a full time Local NRM Officer who is available to provide assistance to community members on all aspects of NRM. This includes

  • technical advice on NRM matters and projects
  • assistance in applying for funding through grants and other government schemes
  • awareness of what NRM opportunities and events are occurring in the region.

For more information please contact the Shire offices on (08) 9920 5011.

For more information on NACC and how it is helping NRM in the region please visit the NACC website www.nacc.com.au
