Endorsed in 2017, the Shire of Chapman Valley’s Community Strategic Plan established a 10 year, big- picture overview of the aspirations and goals for the future of Chapman Valley.
The Strategic Community Plan also anchors the Councils guiding documents such as the Corporate Business Plan and Long Term Financial Plan.
Local Government’s must undertake a full review of the Plan every four years, and the Shire of Chapman Valley has commenced this review process.
This current review process requires input from the community, including residents, ratepayers, schools and local business.
Feedback is critical to developing a current and accurate Community Plan that captures the community’s ideas and priorities for the Chapman Valley they wish to enjoy into the future.
Such feedback provides the Council with valuable information when considering delivery of services and establishment of infrastructure across all areas and demographics of the community.
An online survey is currently open and gives the community an opportunity to have their say.
Alternatively, a hardcopy postcard is available from Shire facilities and Councillors and has also been distributed to some local business shop fronts.
Please contact the Shire Administration office if you would like to receive a hardcopy postcard.
Postcards can be returned to Shire facilities.
The survey online closes on 15 February 2022.
Face to face community consultation will take place in the week commencing 7 February, 2022. Specific dates and times will be promoted closer to February.
Locations for community consultation workshops are:
- Bill Hemsley Park Community Centre;
- Business operator/ tourism operator workshop;
- Nabawa Community Centre; and
- Yuna Multipurpose Community Centre
Consultation will be undertaken directly with the two local primary schools (Chapman Valley, Yuna).
Upon completion of the community feedback period and face to face community consultation, a draft Plan will be circulated for feedback, prior to further consideration and final adoption by Council.
Updates on the Strategic Community Plan Review Process will be available on the Shire’s website, and promoted through social media and by hardcopy at Shire facilities.
