Online Form - BlazeAid and Seroja Response Information

The Shire of Chapman Valley is welcoming Blaze Aid to our region.

Blaze Aid is a volunteer-based organisation that works with families and individuals in rural Australia after natural disasters such as fires and floods. Working alongside the rural families, these volunteers help to rebuild fences and other structures that have been damaged or destroyed.

A basecamp of volunteers will be established at the Yuna Community Centre.

We need you to register your cyclone affected property. Information will be collated for areas across the region and while treated in confidence, will be passed onto BlazeAid for jobs to be completed.

Blaze Aid volunteers will be based at Yuna and commence work on 1 May 2020. From this base camp, the volunteers then travel in teams of 4-5 with a trailer each day to local farms and assist with fencing and structure rebuilds. Work is prioritised in order of urgency, such as stock security, boundary fencing ect. Work is undertaken seven days a week from 8.30am – 2.30/4.30pm.

Donations of funding to assist with BlazeAid’s daily catering requirements for volunteers can be made directly to BlazeAid. Requests to participate as a volunteer can also be made directly to BlazeAid. Contact Judy at blazeaid.yuna@gmail.com or 0427 614 546.
