The Shire of Chapman Valley is introducing a new operational model at the Nabawa Refuse Site, effective September 2025, to enhance safety, accountability, and sustainability.
Key Changes:
- 🧑🔧 Staffed Facility: An onsite attendant will be present during all opening hours to assist users and ensure safe, compliant waste disposal.
- 🕒 Opening Hours: Wednesdays & Sundays, 8:30am–4:30pm
- 🎫 Tip Pass System: All Chapman Valley ratepayers will receive a Tip Pass, required for entry. This ensures fair access and prevents misuse by non-residents.
- 💰 User Fees Introduced: Most waste types will now attract a disposal fee. Green waste remains free for Tip Pass holders.
Sample Fees:
- Putrescible Waste (240L bin): $5.00
- General Waste (mixed/inert): $10.00 per load
- White Goods: $10.00 each
- Mattresses: $15.00–$25.00
- Tyres: $9.00–$160.00 depending on type and size
